Billboard Music Awards 2017

Aconteceu nesse domingo (21), em Las Vegas, USA, o Billboard Music Awards 2017, uma das premiações mais importantes da indústria musical norte-americana. Apresentado por Ludacris e Vanessa Hudgens, o evento contou com um medley de Nicki Minaj na abertura, a rapper ainda dividiu o palco com Lil Wayne, David Guetta e Jason Derulo durante a apresentação.

Além de Nicki Minaj, a premiação ainda teve performances de Miley Cyrus, em uma nova fase musical com seu single “Malibu”, Imagine Dragons, Lorde, The Chainsmokers, Halsey, Camila Cabello, que fez a primeira performance de sua carreira solo, e John Legend, como também apresentações não presenciais de Ed Sheeran e Bruno Mars.

Os destaques da noite, porém, ficaram por conta do rapper Drake, que chegou na edição desse ano para quebrar recordes. No BBMA 2017 Drake alcançou a marca de artista com mais estatuetas na história da premiação e também artista que ganhou o maior número de prêmios em uma noite, título que antes pertencia a Adele. O rapper venceu em 13 categorias!

Para mostrar que não veio pra brincadeira, Drake ainda realizou uma performance bastante enérgica de “Gyalchester” na Fonte de Bellagio, em Vegas.

Nas redes sociais, o Twitter explodiu quando o boygroup sul coreano BTS subiu ao palco para aceitar o prêmio de Top Social Artist, categoria que era vencida por Justin Bieber desde 2011. Prêmio que fica a cargo do voto popular, o BTS contou com mais de 300 milhões de votos e em seu discurso agradeceram as Armys (fãs do grupo) por todo seu amor e dedicação.

Ainda falando em destaques, a cantora Céline Dion fez uma performance memorável de “My Heart Will Go On” em comemoração aos 20 anos de lançamento do single que estourou no mundo todo, trilha sonora do clássico Titanic. Confira no link: https://streamable.com/xdyr1.

Um outro momento emocionante ficou para o final da premiação, quando a cantora Cher foi contemplada com o “Icon Award”, prêmio que homenageia a carreira de um artista. Além de um discurso sobre fazer o que você ama, Cher, aos 71 anos e mais de 50 anos de carreira, subiu ao ao palco do BBMA para cantar os hits “Believe” e “If I Could Turn Back Time” depois de 15 anos sem se apresentar em premiações.
